Türkiye Kıyısına Vuran 3. Balina Sergileniyor - Uzun Balina

Fotoğrafta görülen devasa iskelet 1998 yılında Aydın Dilek Yarımadası Milli Parkı Kavaklı Burun Koyunda karaya vuran Fin Balinasına (uzun balina) aittir. Bulunduğu tarih itibariyle Türkiye kıyılarında ele geçirilen 3. örnektir. Balinanın öldüğünde 14.5 m boyunda ve 7-8 aylık olduğu tahmin edilmektedir. İskelet bir araya getirildikten sonra 2000-2006 yılları arasında Kuşadası Belediye binası içinde sergilenmiştir. 2006 yılında belediyedeki yerinden sökülerek Kuşadası sahilindeki Güvercin Ada’ya getirilmiş ve burada iskeletin yıpranan parçaları restore edilerek yeniden montajı yapılmıştır.
